The Jedox 2023.4 update is part of our commitment to continually evolve the platform experience for finance professionals. It introduces improvements across all parts of the platform with a particular emphasis on the dashboarding and management reporting through Canvas and Views capabilities. This release comes the same week that Jedox was named a Leader in the Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Financial Planning Software. Financial analysts, managers, planners and planning contributors can benefit from the enhancements and innovation made by the Jedox product and engineering team.

Drill anywhere to achieve greater model transparency, data quality and compliance

Understanding how a model works and the quality of data within the model is critical for efficient business operations, management reporting and effective performance management.

Financial analysts can now capture insights by understanding the data’s origin within a model, its collection process, and calculation method. With Drill Anywhere, data quality issues can also be identified and resolved, preventing erroneous forecasts and predictions. The ability to trace the origin of data facilitates internal controls and external compliance efforts.

Drill Anywhere example

Finance analysts can Drill Anywhere within a custom report to explore details of a Jedox Cube cell, and undertake ad hoc data analysis by slicing data, drilling down, rolling up, and switching perspective with Cross Drilldown. CFOs can open a report and inspect cells within the model to spot-check model design. Even auditors can test controls and validate that models are producing accurate results.

For auditing, a new capability means Jedox administrators can manage Jedox Integrator jobs and set up an auditing View for a particular job and see who created or deleted it.

Businesses must update Jedox to the 2023.4 version to enjoy the benefits of Drill Anywhere.

Significant connectivity enhancements to SAP HANA, Qlik, and leading data lake Snowflake

2023.4 offers streamlined integration and extensibility through updated connectors and integrations. In this release we have added Qlik SaaS connector, which can be easily built with only two connection parameters. This release follows the inclusion of a connector to the Snowflake data lake in our last release with enhanced security and authentication features.

A new SAP HANA View extract retrieves data from SAP HANA calculation views for use in further integrator processing. With this enhancement, model builders can easily perform complicated ETL processes and use the data from SAP HANA views directly in Jedox.

Jedox Add-in for Excel gets better and better with version 2.5.0

Now you can work in Excel and safely and efficiently update your Jedox models thanks to four major enhancements.

  • Insert Elements. Navigate through databases and Cubes, selecting specific single or multiple data elements as needed. This ensures only essential data is brought into Excel, preserving its performance while ensuring reports display up-to-date and accurate information.
  • Insert Data Function and Guess Arguments. Pull real-time data directly into Excel reports from Jedox’s In-Memory Database. The “Guess Arguments” feature enhances existing Excel reports, replacing static data with live, up-to-date information from Jedox.
  • Update data on demand with the new “Update Sheet” feature. Analysts can decide when to update Jedox formulas, significantly improving speed and performance.
  • Pinned Views allow planners to easily access their most important views, improving user experience and efficiency.

Administrators can synchronize Jedox instances without IT or external support

Jedox administrators can now copy production data between instances in just a few clicks, to prepare new development or testing environments. A single source of truth is maintained throughout Jedox instances and guarantees that all instances stay up to date simultaneously. This accelerates an organization’s ability to utilize an accurate digital twin of their business to plan, budget, forecast, and report with confidence.

Conclusion

The Jedox platform update 2023.4 embodies the commitment to continually evolve and equip finance teams with best-in-class platform experience that enhances integration, user experience, and drives better business outcomes.
